Official: Russia's grain rules unacceptable for Kazakhstan

ST. PETERSBURG, Jun 17 (PRIME) -- The trade and agriculture authorities of Russia and Kazakhstan must coordinate grain exports in order taking into account the interests of both countries, not only Russia, Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakhyt Sultanov said on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) on Friday.

"The actions of the Russian Federation and the desire of the Russian Federation to balance the local price with the export price and to make it lower by setting an export customs duty in Kazakhstan is unacceptable, because we have a different economy… and a different prime cost of products," he said.

Business daily Kommersant reported earlier that Russia wants all members of the Eurasian Economic Union to set grain export quotas and duties to prevent re-export of Russian grain.
